Ships not using fuel even after creative mode is toggled off

Ships do not use up fuel even after toggling off creative mode with the Alt+F10 button. Usually when I turn on creative mode, the ship does not use fuel, then when I turn creative mode off, the ship starts using up fuel again. Now, even when creative mode is turned off, the ship does not consume hydrogen fuel.
