Ship deleted itself when walked 500m to get Unknown Signal

Won't Fix

Game ver:

Economy update

What I did:

I was part way through building a ship on a planet, (secured with landing gear to planet surface) I went over to grab an Unknown Signal, went back to my ship maybe only 500m away and it was gone, only my nearby ramp and pod remained.

I have never had creations delete themselves before. Last time I played December 2017 ish.

Not playable at all in this state when your survival mode creations can just delete themselves.

My PC specs: Intel i7 4790K, NVIDIA MSI 970 4G, Samsung 850 evo SSD (256gb), 16 GB Corsair Vengeance RAM, ASUS Maximus VII Hero Mobo. All latest drivers and updates.

Its the default world cleanup settings which are garbage on single player, go into alt-F10 admin menu, select trash removal submenu and change the settings, it's per save, there is no global setting for it.

Hello,

I agree with Roxette, this is usually caused by trash removal, which by default deletes unpowered grids if they are too far from a player.

Can you confirm if that is the issue or if the grid disappears even with disabled trash removal?

I'm sorry to say it bud but you are probably just a victim of the trash collection. If you set a battery to recharge on a grid or it runs out of power and there are no other sources of power the game considers the grid unpowered, which makes it a candidate for removal by the game. These options can be changed as has already been stated by the admin menu (alt-f10) I think everyone has been a victim of this at some point.

Hello, Engineers!

It´s quite long time from when the issue was originally posted. Is it still happening to you? Or was it just one time thing connected to Trash removal, as others are mentioning?

Thanks for letting us know and confirming.

Kind Regards
