Server does not respond

Hello, I got a problem regarding the multiplayer. I can't connect to servers that I haven't visit for more than 5h I think. I joined a server my friends are playing on, and I download the mods. everything fine. I can join them for the first time without a problem. Reconnectiong because of lag or a bug is also no problem. But as soon as I go off for real, like to sleep or for uni and come back, that's were is starts and I can't connect anymore.

First time this occured was literaly only a 7h gap.

What I tried:

- Restart Game

- Restart Steam

- Run Steam/Game as Admin

- Restart PC (Plus decharge all caps to make sure everything is starting "fresh")

- Joining via the Steam provided Server Browser

- Joining via friendlist

- Direct connect

- Check and repair game files via Steam

- Deactivate Firewall

- Installed mods needed on the Server manualy and they work without any problem in SP

- Waited in the Menu (Because apparently the game says connection failed but loads the mods in the background. But I got a 50k connection and waited over 1h for a combined mod size of not more then 1,4GB. This can't be the problem)

None of that works. I had to reinstall the whole game and then I was able to join. This was yesterday. Now I want to connect and I can't connect. Same "server not responding" problem. The internet does not provide any info to my problem. I can't tell if this problem is caused by the update because I started playing on dedicated servers only 2 days ago...

I already tried other servers, and they work NOW. But this might change after 6h or so. I really don't get it why this problem is apparently time related. And according to the server's Admin, I am the only one having trouble. And since I can see who connects and disconnects on their Discord, he is right. I am the only one connecting and instantly disconnecting, while others connect and join.

Edit: Can't connect to servers that have worked this morning.

So, I was able to join the server. But this is the only time during the day it worked the other times. The first time I connected the server was 4am. yesterday it worked (with reinstall) at 2am. now it's 3am and it worked again without any problems. I changed nothing and it worked on the firs try. during afternoon or evening I tried it 12 times and it never worked.

Just saying this, maybe it's relevant....

And I can't connect again. Checked my ISP and Router Settings and nothing is affecting me. This problem only happens with SE

This is caused by game constantly getting new list of servers every time you click something in the server browser window.

Click History=get new list

Click Advanced search=Get new list

Click Servers=Get new list AGAIN !

This is overloading the network and crashing it.

Funny thing is, you dont even know you lost internet. Its still there but its overloaded with what can be described as DDOS attack

Today at 3:35pm I was able to connect without any problems. at 7:04pm it kicked me off and reconnecting was not possible at this point. According to the discord help I received it could be a internet problem, but why is SE the only application on my PC to be that "picky" when it comes to network speed. every other application runs just fine.

Hello, Diego!

Sorry to hear you're experiencing this issue. Is it possible to please supply your log file from when this happens?

You can access your log files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.

Kind Regards

Same. I had this issue a couple of years ago. It might be some sort of memory leak or something, since that happened to after approaching huge voxel entities like planets, for example. As a result immediate disconnect and inability to get back into the game. From that point you can forget about your game, you are dead and your stuff is de-spawned, since you will not be able to reinstall the game that quick.

Its not a memory leak. Game is designed to download server list every time you click something in the server browser.

It automatically refreshes the list all the time.

Click Servers=download new list

Click History=download new list

Click something else=download new list

All those downloads causing your router to go into DDOS attack prevention. Its overran with downloads from same source.

They need to download server list ONCE and then display it to the user based on what ever user wants to see, without refreshing it every time user makes changes on what they want to see.

Any change to the filters or what have you, should not download new server list, it should deal with whats already downloaded.

UPDATE server list button would be the next logical thing to do after disabling automatic server list update every time you fart.

LOG is useless.

All i see in there is server list is downloaded every time GUI Stats: Update
