Sensor range resetting to 0.1m

Lonogan1 shared this bug 2 years ago
Won't Fix

Every time I load my single player world, copy/paste a ship, paste in a blueprint, or build a blueprint from a projector the set range values for all axes of any sensor blocks are reset to 0.1m regardless of the current settings for said sensor block(s). I have already searched through the past bug report threads I could find and some mentioned the bug only happens if the range was less than 1m, but for me this is happening with both ranges less than 1m and even full ranges as high as the 50m limit. This bug is breaking multiple ship designs that rely on sensors to run key functions and having to manually reprogram every sensor block every time I load my game simply is not practical.

Hello, Lonogan1,

thanks for letting us know about this issue that you are experiencing.

However, when I did try it, I did not observe this behavior to be broken. I had a grid with multiple sensors and all actions and set range was preserved in all situations - after setting it up, save, load from main menu, or even after fully closed game and running it again. Worked in settings 0.5 m, 10 m and 30 m in all directions. Worked fine on single grid save-load, after pasting grid and making it new using blueprint for me.

Seems rather something on your grid might be wrongly set, or maybe due to mods (are you using any that can possibly broke this?).

Can I please get a save file with the word, where this is already broken?

You can access your save files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Saves. There should be a folder with your SteamID and your saves.

Please zip the file and attach it here. If you are having difficulty attaching files you can optionally use Google Drive. When sharing a google drive link please make sure it is set to be downloadable by anyone with the link.

Thanks in advance.

Kind Regards

Hello, Engineer!

Because there is no new comment from you, and we are unable to reproduce the issue on our own, I will close this thread now as outdated.

If you or any other player will experience this issue again, please make a new thread and provide all needed info there.

Thank you for understanding.
