SE stalls at "unloading world"

Gabriel H shared this bug 2 years ago
Won't Fix

I've revisited the scenario which teaches you how to survive. However at the point where the world is unloaded, this point is taking over 5 minutes now with assumption that it is not going end the process.

Task manager dose not state it's a non responsive application however. I ran SE as normal with steam online and standard scenario with no mods loaded if option is applicable.

Hello, Gabriel!

Sorry to hear you're experiencing this issue. Is this only in that particular scenario? Will this happen in any other scenario? Will this happen straight away or after a prolonged period of play? COuld you please supply a copy of your log when this occurs?

You can access your log files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.

Kind Regards

Hello Laura,

I cannot say for sure this is only that particular scenario, my best guess is that is after a prolonged period of play, mine was 30 minutes to 1 hours. Certainly, i have attached the log. I will look into a file verification as well just to rule that out.

Hello, Gabriel!

Thank you for the information. I have heard of this happening with large worlds after prolonged play on these forums. I would suggest some of our usual first steps and see if any of these help in your scenario. Please let me know how you get on :)

  • Verify your game files in Steam

  • Right click on Space Engineers in Steam Library → Properties → Local Files → Verify Integrity of Game Files

  • Delete SpaceEngineers.cfg file

  • It means your game configuration will be deleted
  • You can access your SpaceEngineers.cfg by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.

  • Delete ShaderCache folder

  • Back up your whole Space Engineers Roaming folder and delete it
  • Restart Steam
  • Reinstall VC Redist 2017
  • Update graphic drivers
  • Reinstall the game
  • Make sure your operating system is fully updated

Kind Regards
