Sci-Fi Sliding Door Flinging Players Around

Solved

Problem description:

The Sci-Fi Sliding Door does not behave as it should. When parking a ship, the doors enter a glitched state where they do not visually close anymore. Further, if one attempts to walk through an open door, they get instantly accelerated to very high speeds, causing them to fling out of the door frame, more often than not actually killing the player if they are in survival. When attempting to fly a ship with glitched doors, it behaves strangely, as if it has glitched into another object and is being pulled in random directions constantly.

Expected Behavior:

When parking the ship, doors should remain functional. They should open and close normally, and walking through an open door should not affect the players velocity, except if they are entering an air-tight room.

Note on mods:

I have first encountered this bug on a heavily modded world, but I have since attempted this on vanilla worlds as well and the issue persists.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Create a small grid with a landing gear. Lock the landing gear to a planetary surface.
  2. Build a Sci-Fi Sliding Door on said grid. Observe that the door opens and closes correctly.
  3. Unlock the landing gear.

Now the door starts misbehaving and the grid will begin moving erratically as well. You may now lock the landing gear again, create a copy of the grid, save a blueprint or even reload the entire game; the issue will persist until the door block itself is replaced. Unlocking the landing gear again will once more trigger the glitch.

Further notes:

Steam user Caturix first created a thread about this issue on the steam forums. They also provided a link to a video blueprint showing off the bug in action. You can find the thread and the blueprint in question here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/244850/discussions/0/2790495976039106555/

I will attach my logfile to this post. The log file may show signs of heavy modding as I was doing the initial testing on a modded world, however, as I have described initially I did test this again on a vanilla (unmodded) version of the game and the glitch occurs regardless.

There was a similar bug years ago that caused doors to become "lethal" randomly, killing any player who attempted to walk through them. I have my doubts that this is related to the same issue, but it may be a good starting point.

How long will we wait for this bug fix to play properly? Is it really impossible to release a fix, as they do in other games?
