Rover steering issues

Charles Milhaupt shared this bug 3 years ago
Won't Fix

I have been frequently frustrated with rovers. They do not seem to steer straight. They continuously turn in one direction, or the other, after finishing a turn, no matter how much of a turn I make, they never straighten back out. I have tried making sure all the wheel settings are the same. Enabling/disabling gyros. Grinding down and rebuilding the wheels and suspensions. Using different wheels, both offroad and vanilla wheels. Adjusting friction, adjusting strength. The rover I mainly use is designed to be symmetrical, and does not always drive this way. It happens often, but not all the time. It happens when the rover is both heavy and light. It also happens with other rovers. The starter rover does the exact same thing. This has been happening for a long time and it is extremely frustrating. I have read that other people have the same problem, but cannot seems to find a solution.

Hello, Charles,

sorry to hear that you are experiencing this.

You think it might be possible to share the video when the bug is happening, so I can clearly see it, please? From what I understand from the text, it seems I´m not able to reproduce this issue on my side.

Also - you write that it happens even with the starting rover, but do you have any that is suffering... let say the most with this issue? Can you share me a blueprint of any rover affected like this?

Thanks in advance.

Kind Regards

I do not know if I'll be able to capture video of it happening, but I will try. I do not know where to find the blueprint files you need. I found the blueprints folder, but it only seems to contain thumbnails. Is that what you need?

Hello, Charles,

if the blueprints are local (made by you; by pressing Ctrl + B on the grid), you can find it in Roaming folder - type %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you´ll be redirected there. Then just follow SE/Blueprints/Local. You shall be able to find the requested blueprints there. If you are using some from the Workshop, the most easy way how to share it here is to copy paste the URL to the Workshop page.

Hope this helps.

There aren't any blueprints in that folder. They only show up in the cloud save folder, and that just shows thumbnails. I do not have any workshop ones either.

Hi, Chalers,

so if there are no already set blueprint, please do them locally... aim the crosshair on it and press Ctrl + B (as already mentioned above). That should do the local blueprint in the mentioned folder.

Also if you are really really unable to do the blueprint and share it, please can you at least tell me the names for the rovers, so I can try and find it on the Workshop?

Also, I did try to ask you for the video. You think it is possible you do any? The video as a prove would be also great help!

Thanks.

Kind Regards

Hello, Engineer!

Because there is no new comment from you, and we are unable to reproduce the issue on our own, I will close this thread now as outdated.

If you or any other player will experience this issue again, please make a new thread and provide all needed info there.

Thank you for understanding.

Kind Regards
