Replaced Custom World Save File

CoolDamp_TCDP shared this bug 3 years ago
Won't Fix

I was making a custom world star system save and when the world was saved I got the message stating something on the lines of; "Ran out of memory, could not save." So I exited the world and on the title screen was "Resume Game: Star System" I clicked on it and it loaded to a basic star system with no customization and no mods. I saved and quit and went to custom worlds and it showed what I did in that world. Is there any way I can fix this?

Edit: I found the custom world file. Can anyone point me to a unglitched star system file I can download?

To fix this, delete the folder Star System under SpaceEngineers\Content\CustomWorlds\

Go to Steam Library, right click Space Engineers, select Properties. Select the Local Files tab, press Verify Integrity Of Game Files

After scanning the entire game, it will download the custom world. It is very small, about 152KB

I can upload it for you, but it would be better to use Steam

Hello!

I'm sorry you've run into an issue. I would suggest that if you're needing to get the files back to how they were, hopefully the following should sort them out. Please let me know if you are still having an issue after trying the below steps.

  • Verify your game files in Steam
  • Right click on Space Engineers in Steam Library → Properties → Local Files → Verify Integrity of Game Files

  • Delete SpaceEngineers.cfg file
  • It means your game configuration will be deleted
  • You can access your SpaceEngineers.cfg by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.
  • Delete ShaderCache folder
  • Back up your whole Space Engineers Roaming folder and delete it
  • Restart Steam
  • Reinstall VC Redist 2017
  • Update graphic drivers
  • Reinstall the game
  • Make sure your operating system is fully updated
