Problem with ship building mode in multiplayer

When in offline/singleplayer the ship building mode works as intended but when a world is set online it no longer works. The block would appear as if you could place it as normal with green outline and all but will not allow you to place it.

Sorry to hear you're experiencing this issue.

Can I please ask for some clarification on this? I had assumed you meant the mirroring mode with M but that is working for me as intended. Could I please have reliable steps for reproducing the bug? :)

I'm playing on a vanilla survival world with one of my friends, and when I'm talking about ship building mode, I'm talking about while you are in a cockpit if you press ctrl+G you enter your ships building mode NOT mirror mode as that is creative only and not even mentioned in my report. If you were to join/host a multiplayer session and tried to access and use the ship building mode, you'd be able to enter the mode and have the preview block appear in front of you, but even if you have the material and meet all requirements, and even though the block preview is green, you cannot place any blocks in ship building mode while a world is set online.

Thank you for the clarification. I was able to reproduce the issue you're having, however, the upcoming major update 198 will include a fix for this.
