Placement mode always shows free placement

In the new update Triton (v 1.194.048) the first line where it says which placement mode is active always tells "Free placement mode" although I change the mode and the bottom line changes.

thanks for the report, just to clarify, we have been able to reproduce this, but it is not stuck on Free, it can occasionally switch to other alignments when you fiddle with it.
But it is not behaving as it should.
