Pistons cause torque feeback loop

I'm playing on a vanilla survival Star System world on a dedicated server where I am the admin. Multiple times now I've run into instances where modifying the grid attached to a pre-existing piston causes some kind of torque/rotational feedback loop with the axis of rotation centered directly on the piston head. This causes the ship/vehicle to spin madly with no recourse except to either delete the grid from the Info tab or wait until it bumps into enough things (ground, asteroids, what-have-you) to destroy the piston head itself because approaching it with a hand grinder is a death-sentence.

Restarting the client doesn't stop it. Restarting the server doesn't stop it. I've had to implement an honor system where we all agree to not use pistons at all because we've lost too much to crazy spinning vehicles flinging themselves wildly about and destroying us, our nearby ships, and our core base facilities.

Please at least acknowledge that this is an issue - even if it isn't being prioritized to be fixed. Thank you for your time.

A day or two ago I put a rotor on my mobile base with a piston attached to create a drilling arm. While trying to set the min max degrees of rotation it spun violently and launched my mobile base through the air and landed about 700m away from my body. Not sure if it's related but it's insane that rotors do this still. Make the default settings more safe. Don't make it spin violently when you're adjusting settings and trying to figure out how it's going to behave. Setting the degrees that intuitively would seem correct made it rotate the opposite way. Maybe instead of Unlimited on both set it it 0 and 360 and a lot less power and speed. I don't know if the pistol had anything to do with this but just in case I wanted to add this.
