Piston on vehicles cause vehicle to lift off

when you put a piston faceing up onto a small vehicle, the vehicle lifts off.
it does not matter if the breaks are on or not, the piston has some issues with the direction up on small grids, a specially on wheeled vehicles.

I've tried to weld a piston onto a vehicle to turn it over when I flipped it accidentally on more than one occasion and have encountered this bug twice. When I first use the piston it is fine but then as soon as I try to place a block (small light armor block in both cases) onto the head of the piston it freaks out and the vehicle goes tumbling and spinning out of control for no reason. I've even managed to get into the cockpit and completely shut down the power just in case something else was the problem but that changes nothing.
