Pink Voxel Texture Bug

Won't Fix

On these pictures, you can see a massive pink texture bug. The bug goes deeper into the ground when you drill it out. It appears only on earth, the other planets are totaly fine. It replaces these voxels: Ice, Stone, Grass. BUT it doesn't replace every ice, somewhere it does, somewhere it doesn't. Same for the other voxels. It's totally random. But when you generate a map, they are at the same place.

Strangely I'm having the same issue since the latest 1.197.066 update, see attached pictures.

It's not all over, but only where there is voxel damage (carved or explosions).

I tried to check files integrity, and after that most of the textures got better, still there is a now black spot instead of pink, but on most parts is gone...

Might be my disk is about to die?

Hello Dragon and Toshiwo!

Thanks for letting us know and keeping in touch with us. This issue happen to me personally as well once or twice. Even though it was when using voxel hand. I did not find any clear repro how to make it happen, so I can not tell it will work 100% for you as well, but what fixed it for me was to delete ShaderCache2 folder in Roaming.

Of course you might want to make a backup first. But upon deleting this folder and running the game again, the folder should be newly created with fresh data.

You can access the folder by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. In SpaceEnginners folder, you should be able to locate ShaderCache2 folder.

Let me know if this helps :)

Kind Regards

Upon creating a new world solved my issue. As it was quite an old save, any changes to that folder could have messed with my world. As I can't recreate the issue I can only give those screenshots.

Thanks for the advice, if it happens I will try it. Though haven't seen the issue in a long time, and lets keep it that way.

Hello, Engineers!

Because there is no new comment from you, and we are unable to reproduce the issue on our own, I will close this thread now as outdated.

If you or any other player will experience this issue again, please make a new thread and provide all needed info there.

Thank you for understanding.

That's OK, as I mentioned in my previous comment, in my case I don't have the issue anymore, it looked like it was some corrupted file.

That for the pink texture, I still have some black ones but only occasionally and not that noticeable.
