(PC) Unable to Join Steam Multi, Easily join EOS severs. Joining Steam sever Knock sever offline

Jameson Miller shared this bug 2 years ago
Won't Fix

This started when my friend bought SE to play with us in a dedicated sever threw PingPerfect. We decided on a dedicated server because neither of us could host a game for the other. Basically we get the unable to join and host left session notifications. Which seems to be well documented here and seems to have something to do with downloading mods.

We have no mods. This issue persists. I created a dedicated server and almost every time he joins, he causes my server to go offline. We tried with the Keen servers, and sure enough he is joining random games and they go down every time. Sometimes though he can get into my dedicated server. Hes presented with an inability to spawn in the server. I know all that sounds strange. Nothing I found on here really talks about this issue. But there is more. He can easily get into EOS crossplay severs no problem.

So what is causing this? Anyone heard of this problem specifically before? Please let me know.

Hello, Jameson!

Sorry to hear you're facing this issue with your friend.

Do you have this issue too? If not, and it is happening to your friend on Keen servers too, I would focus on them and their issue. Would it be possible to get a copy of the log from your friend from when this happens? We can then see if anything shows up and also the specs that they are running.

You can access your log files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.

You say that your friend knocks server offline and also there is a mention of being unable to spawn. Could you confirm exactly what happens on an official server?

Things they should try in the meantime:

  • Verify your game files in Steam
  • Right click on Space Engineers in Steam Library → Properties → Local Files → Verify Integrity of Game Files

  • Delete SpaceEngineers.cfg file
  • It means your game configuration will be deleted
  • You can access your SpaceEngineers.cfg by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.
  • Delete ShaderCache folder
  • Back up your whole Space Engineers Roaming folder and delete it
  • Restart Steam
  • Reinstall the game
  • Make sure your operating system is fully updated

I would suggest checking their anti-virus and also firewall settings to make sure nothing strange is interfering there too.

Kind Regards

Hello, Engineer!

Because there is no new comment from you, and we are unable to reproduce the issue on our own, I will close this thread now as outdated.

If you or any other player will experience this issue again, please make a new thread and provide all needed info there.

Thank you for understanding.

Kind Regards
