not quting when you save and quit

Won't Fix

i've experienced this on a few saves now


When im playing and want to go to the main menu i ofcourse click save and exit but after i confirm the game just keeps playing and i can't do anything. i've waited 10min doesnt work.

I have to quit the game and reboot it to go to the main menu.

restarting pc doesnt work either

I have the same issue. Yes I run mods and don't on some saves I play on happens I would say about every 3rd save or so when I quit out

Sorry to hear you're still experiencing this. With regards to the times where you do not run mods and this still happens, I would suggest the following steps to see if this helps clear the issue.

  • Verify your game files in Steam
  • Right click on Space Engineers in Steam Library → Properties → Local Files → Verify Integrity of Game Files

  • Delete SpaceEngineers.cfg file
  • It means your game configuration will be deleted
  • You can access your SpaceEngineers.cfg by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.
  • Back up your whole Space Engineers Roaming folder and delete it
  • Restart Steam
  • Reinstall the game
  • Make sure your operating system is fully updated

YAWN!!!!!!.....That does nothing. I really wish you guys would come up with something else. That is the first thing I tried.......anyhow maybe one day Keen will 1. fix the game crashing before the menu and this...who knows

Sorry to hear this did not fix the issue for you. You mention crashing before the menu. Is it possible to supply a log for this? Is this happening every time?

You can access your log files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.

Also, with relation to not quitting. Could you give a little more information? Is this every time? or, on large worlds etc. Any further information would be a big help.

The log has been supplied to Keen multiple times, but let's call over 1000 times.. same error. To be honest I'm over helping Keen.

I have an idea why don't you look at the email on my account here. Then go over to whatever team looks at crash reports. And just pick one I have sent. Same crash different time stamp.


But this thread is about saving....not my other report

Please could you supply a video of this happening and how you reproduced the issue? Also ideally the log is attached here too. Unfortunately, if we can not see how this was reproduced, we will be unable to fix the issue.

Here's the thing is I haven't played in 6 months because I can't get the game to go into menu. I would love to show you with a video, but I can't get into the menu with out attempting 20 to 30 times.

-this post I believe is older than my other ticket that was ignored for over 9 months

-you do what you need to do on your side with this post, but until the game gets past the menu I can't help you
