".NET out of date" Error

since i updated to the new update "economy update" i cant start my game.
it pops up a message that says " please update your .NET runtime with this hotfix:\nhttps://support.microsoft.com/kb/3120241\n\nThe game will not run correctly otherwise "
but the thing is my .NET framework version is 4.8 and the hot fix is for 4.6 or 4.6.1

I might be wrong, but the way .Net frameworks work, the application “targets” a specific version. So unlike other things where if it calls for 4.6 and you have 4.8 installed, you would assume that 4.8 “includes” everything that 4.6, including fixes, would have.
But that’s not what happens, since the application actually targets 4.6 it will run WITH version 4.6. When you installed (or whatever application auto-installed it for you) 4.8 it doesn’t replace the 4.6 you might have had, it installs a new 4.8 and makes it the default. But any applications that come around looking to run with 4.6 will run using THAT 4.6 version.
So while you would think that having 4.8 means you don’t need to install the hot fix, that’s not true.
I would suggest you install the hot fix as indicated and try again. If THAT doesn’t work, then it is entirely possible that I’m full of crap, but give it a shot.

No what your saying makes sense AND i tried installing that hotfix ,but my pc says i cant because the hotfix is for 4.6
So what if revert to 4.6, do the hotfix,and run the game. That should work right?.
I will try anything to make it work cuz SE is the only game i play.
