Multiple gun issues

Won't Fix

First bug of many:

Rocket launchers make it appear like they wanna rip your arm off...I'm not sure but I don't think my engineer appreciates relocating his arm every time he shoots.

Also, you know the saying about shooting yourself in the foot? Yeah, using the MR50-A the engineer is shooting himself in the hand...A unique twist on an old saying ;)

And for all the pistols:

While I don't mind the idea that my enemies can't see where I'm aiming the pistols, I'm sure I wouldn't enjoy it when I can't see where my enemies are aiming...

And that's it! I hope you enjoyed reading this and here's some funny pictures for you guys to post on your walls

Hello, Kalvin,

thanks for sharing your concern with us. However, none of the reported problems happened to me when tried. Can you specify if you did something special before shooting e.g. the rocket launcher - running, flying, jumping... ?

Is this happening to you on a clean vanilla (without any mods) game or is this problem reproducible only with some mods in the game? Please take in account, that we are not and can not provide support for mods - if this issue is due to some weapon/animation mod you are using, please contact the mod owner/creator and ask him to fix it according to current vanilla game so it is still working.

Hope you understand.

Thanks in advance for you reply.

Kind Regards

After testing, it would seem that a mod was interfering. However, when removing the mod, and all mods, the problems still exists.

I understand the problem with adding the mod. However, should the problem persist when I remove all offending mods?

Hello, Kalvin,

thanks for coming back and for your reply.

Is it possible you make and share me a video of this bug happening to you? So I can see exactly what you are doing prior this bug occurs.

Also can I ask for a save file, where this behavior is already broken for you?

You can access your save files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Saves. There should be a folder with your SteamID and your saves.

Please zip the file and attach it here. If you are having difficulty attaching files you can optionally use Google Drive. When sharing a google drive link please make sure it is set to be downloadable by anyone with the link.

Thanks.

Kind Regards

Leaving the game entirely and reloading a save without the offending mod(s) fixes the issue. However the issue persists if the game is still loaded. There's only one mod that I know of that starts the issue, "Modern Arms Warfare Kit" which is now labeled as broken.

Here's the link with the video: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-oKUZDeMj-U_8aDCSCA3TUkpU587_Eoc/view

I hope that helps!

Hello, Kelvin,

thanks for the video and the commentary :) It was really well done :)

With the named mod, I did observe the same behavior, even after exiting the game, removing the mod and running the save again (in the single instance). It got fixed for me upon closing the game completely and running it again.

While I see that this issue might be not pleasant to experience, since it got fixed after exiting the game, I would not panic :)

Also please take in consideration the "Broken, will be updated Soon" and "NOTE: IS CURRENTLY BEING UPDATED TO SUPPORT THE NEW UPDATE" messages on Workshop, leading us to the point where the mod is clearly the reason why it is broken. It´s great that the mod creator knows that it is broken and is working on the fix. I would wait for him to fix it to a state where it is working with the new update from his point of view. If this issue would persist even after his fix, that would be something to consider. In the current state I don´t see what exactly there is to be done from our side. Hope you understand.

As for the behavior you accidentally showed on video (that it is still broken without mod and after the exiting and relaunching the game) - if you still have this same, where it is broken like this all the time without mod added to Mod list (please try to Verify integrity of game files through Steam), can you send me this particular save?

Thanks in advance.

Yeah, I noticed it said it was broken, I think I said, "Yeah, it's labeled broken so we shouldn't load it in, but whatever" or something along those lines :P

However, loading the save file, without the mod, after completely exiting the game and restarting the game and that save file does not show the same behaviour. The behaviour is only shown in the same instance of the game running, after loading the mod.

Thanks for looking into this :)

Hello, Kalvin,

thanks for your understanding.

Will close this thread now.

If the behavior will be still broken even after the mod creator fix it on his side, please don´t hesitate to open new thread.

Kind Regards
