Mouse not working properly

Whenever I start Space Engineers, my character immediately starts continously moving in one direction (left, right, etc.) This makes the game inplayable! I have already checked the settings and found that controllers are disabled. It used to work just fine in the past and I cannot tell which version has introduced the problem. OS is Windows 10 fully patched.
