I have the same bug
I have the same issue, although I can not confirm that the item disappears from the game - I usually find them in my Inventory after reconnecting to the game.
It seems to be some sort of Inventory UI Desync, as in the game doesn't refresh the items in Inventories for some reason.
From my observation, this usually occurs after opening and closing Datapads from the character inventory.
So far it seems like I'm fine as long as I don't try to read any datapad content, perhaps this is a good point to start investigating this problem from.
