Large welders not shedding weight.

Won't Fix

I have the same issue as this report:

https://support.keenswh.com/spaceengineers/general/topic/1-190-ship-weight-stays-constant-when-using-ship-welder

Except leaving and exiting changes nothing. I have to destroy the welders to shed the weight. Making the ship useless after a few trips.

Hello,

Could you please provide us with more information regarding the issue you reported? To report a bug into our system it is necessary to have reliable steps to reproduce in order for programmers to fix it.

Any additional information would be greatly appreciated! The affected world or blueprint would help as well.

Thank you.

Kind Regards

The best way to replicate this issue, for me, is through the following example. At my base is a large grid, large cargo container, with a connector on the top and bottom and two landing gear. It connects to my base at the bottom for item transfer, and to a transport ship at the top for transport. (not even a battery so it always has to be connected to something) The transport ship will pick it up and take it off site to be filled with ice, once full (and heavy now) I fly it back to base to be unloaded. It connects to base and offloads the ice, either via the refinery or manually, doesnt matter. Once it is empty and I pick it up again to try and fly it off again, it retains the full weight that it had when it was loaded, despite now being empty. I have to relog for the weight of the container to update. The issue with the flying construction ship is the same but easier to resolve. Its a small manually flown ship with two smaller containers and large welders. I load it up, in the containers or welders doesn't matter, and fly off to build things. As I build and items are consumed the ship weight does not change. Even once it is empty it is still heavy and flys poorly. If in mid air I exit the cockpit and re-enter, the weight will update and I will zip off nimbly. This cannot be done with the portable container as it has no cockpit to get in and out of, hence the relog.

Hello, Andy,

as this thread is rather old now, let me please ask first of all whether you are still experiencing this issue even nowadays (v197.181)?

If yes, can you share more info? Blueprints of the ship and base or whole save would be the best in order to try it in your exact environment.

You can access your save files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Saves. There should be a folder with your SteamID and your saves.

Please zip the file and attach it here. If you are having difficulty attaching files you can optionally use Google Drive. When sharing a google drive link please make sure it is set to be downloadable by anyone with the link.

If not, thanks for confirming that this issue has been fixed in the meantime.

Thanks in advance for your reply and for providing the information/files requested.

Kind Regards

Hello, Engineer!

Because there is no new comment from you, and we are unable to reproduce the issue on our own, I will close this thread now as outdated.

If you or any other player will experience this issue again, please make a new thread and provide all needed info there.

Thank you for understanding.

Kind Regards
