Large grid ship drills not removing voxels

wkdz shared this bug 4 years ago
Won't Fix

Happens both in single player and on servers since sparks of the future update... Build a large grid ship with multiple drills (About 12) and at least one drill will spin without removing any voxels. usually 2 of em.. Grinding them down and replacing them will not solve the problem. turning them off and on again does nothing . Reloading or reinstalling the game has no effect either... Have heard other players on the server having the same issues...Please fix this soon as its kinda game breaking and its the thing that makes me log out in frustration...

Hello, Engineer!

Thank you for your feedback. Can you please provide us with a save of your world or a blueprint of your ship?

Thank you.

I gave this a vote, but I am seeing this regardless if it's large grid or small grid. At the moment, for me, it only affects surface rocks - I can drill the rock down to the ground level but that is it, the ground (surface voxels) will not deform, or drill. I can take my hand drill and remove the surface voxels, which give the ships drill access to the remains of the bolder, but the surrounding surface still will not drill - unless drilled by hand.

Moving away from the rock approximately 1 meter, the surface voxels mine as you would expect. I am wondering if it has something to do with where the voxel intersect.

I'm having a similar issue,

I slapped a drill on the space respawn pod, and it worked for a while, but now it won't mine any voxels, or collect resources.

Failed Attempts to Solve:

-I have tried completely destroying it, and rebuilding it, and it does not work.

-I have tried moving the drill to a new location on the ship

-Neither the left click, right click, or on/off setting will convince it to mine.

-I have tried mining on multiple asteroids

-Reloading/restarting game / restarting PC

Succeeded Attempts to Solve:

-If you dock your ship onto another grid, and undock (connectors were used, I'm not sure about merge blocks) your drill will reset, and continue mining, allthough I'm not sure if this is a permanent fix.

UPDATE:

While your drills are glitched, if you try to mine an area, it will not destroy the voxels.

After you redock, you can destroy most voxels again.

If you go to the same asteroid(s) you tried to mine before, they will remain indestructable.

Hello, Engineers!

Thank you @wkdz for your blueprint, however I wasn't able to reproduce it. Could you please provide us a save of your world where you are experiencing this issue?

Thank you.

Hello, wkdz!

I appreciate this thread is quite old. Is this still an issue that persists for you? If it has since been resolved I will close this for you :) There have been a number of updates since your post and we are now on 198.027

Kind Regards

Hello, Engineer!

Because there is no new comment from you, and we are unable to reproduce the issue on our own, I will close this thread now as outdated.

If you or any other player will experience this issue again, please make a new thread and provide all needed info there.

Thank you for understanding.

Kind Regards
