Items in G menu missing + symbol for sub-types

As Title, certain items in the G menu are missing the + symbol to indicate that they have sub-types available. Yet, when you place them on the Hotbar, the + symbol reappears. See attached image.
Fix please ( man, this update broke so much stuff... ).
