Ion Thrusters irresponsive after grid damage during connector activation

When a small ship and a large ship connect and one of the blocks gets damaged during connection, after undocking, the small ship's thrusters no longer work; when using movement controls, you see the thrust from the engines, but the velocity is not altered. Turning is possible, but if some external impulse is applied, the ship can neither accelerate nor decellerate, even though the damping engines run at full speed.
