Invisible Voxels bug after drilling right click

Issue Description:

If you attempt to mine out an area with the drill (using right click), the voxels will disappear. Later, when you try to cover it up with a platform it causes some sort of desync issue where the client thinks the voxels are gone but the server thinks they're not gone. At least I think thats what happening here. I'm not 100% sure. The issue has occurred with asteroids before so its not just a planet related issue as far as I know.

Steps to reproduce:

Using a client connected to a local server on the same network:

  1. Mine out an area with the drill using right click
  2. Place blocks flesh with the dug out ground.
  3. try to run on the platform of blocks you just created.
  4. if it doesn't reproduce the problem, try rebooting the server and reconnect to see if that causes the problem.

Workarounds:

  • Use the jetpack to move around in the affected area.
  • Grind away the blocks and don't use blocks in that area.
  • Try to build structures on support beams outside of the range of generated voxels. And don't build underground or inside asteroids.

Update: After some additional testing, I have come to the conclusion that the regular blocks are not affected. Just the Half Armor Blocks. Please bear this in mind when trying to identify and test this issue. Thanks.

Hello Alexander!

I appreciate this thread is quite old. I have just come back to see if this thread can now be closed or if it is still an issue. I have just tested this myself on the recent version and have had no issues running on the blocks after digging out the area as suggested. I will mark this as solved unless you are having any further issues with it.
