Invisible Players in Multiplayer

For some reason, using a skin other than the Male Engineer can fail to appear for other players, rendering them completely invisible even if broadcasting is on.


I have encountered this myself with the Female engineer when a friend loaded in, solved by respawning after they had joined, as well as seen it occur at random times during Captain Shack's new survival series.

I get this as well, even with the default skin. Usually we have to log in and out for things to render.

I was invisible too, using default male skin. My character was sitting outside of the last cockpit I exited, troubleshooting including rejoining did not fix this.

Fail with male Skin too. For me the problem is when a "Player A" exit his cockpit, he still near his ship for other players even if "Player A" is moving.

Also saw this behaviour. Normally we can fix it by entering and leaving a cryopod.

It seems to be random. Since the minor update it's only happened once. The player disconnected and reconnected from the server and that fixed the issue. This happened the day of the minor update. Not sure what steps to take to make it happen. Seems to be rng.

His body however was found next to a cryopod while he was invisible.

Hi, I can reproduce this issue almost everytime.

My friend has some skins on him and female char. Not sure about which skins

Both me and friend disconnect in cryopod on large ship. With inventory of stuff - not sure if related.

Then I connect to game (and get out of the pod start doing welding and other stuff I am not sure if its related).

I see him being disconnected on ship.

After few moments he connects via LAN option (he is hosting the server on another machine).

I still see him in the cryopod via beacon signal, but he is already running around the ship and welding/doing stuff I see blocks being welded around.

To fix the issue he has to take a seat on one of the seats. After that I see him on his "proper" position.

I have the same issue in reverse. If he joins first and then i join after him.


If it helps server is running in experimental mode.


If you need server save files, let me know I can provide them to you.

We found exact reproduction steps:

# Join with 2 players

# Both players: enter the Cryo or Cockpit

# Restart the server

# Both players: Rejoin and leave the Cryo or Cockpit

Voila :)

We will fix it.

Keen here is another 100% recreatable bug that may be in relation to this

step 1 have 2 players on vanilla unmodded empty start.

step 2 player 1 place a sliding door

step 3 have player 2 in same faction toggle off the door

step 4 player 1 toggle on the door and open it an walk through

step 5 player 2 still sees the door as toggled off and closed but can walk through.

If done correctly while the door is opened player 2 will see the door as opened but is indeed not and get the rubber banding effect.

Regarding invisible players:


This issue has been resolved in Minor update v187.2
