instalation not recognize

Won't Fix

After the last update, I get in to my steam account and it shows that I have to install the game. I go and check the folder where it was installed and there are all the files.

Now I'm concern that if I re-install the game I'll lose all my savings.

What should I do?

01.- Shows the petition to install (you can see the hours played)

02.- Shows the folders where the game is installed.

Hello, Hugh,

thanks for sharing this issue with us. Can you try to run the game through the SpaceEngineers.exe file located in SpaceEnginners/Bin64? Will the game run for you like this?

If you want to run the game through Steam I´m afraid you´ll need to install it anew (which might need you to delete whole SE folder from Steam folder, can´t really tell).

If you are worried about your save files, you can access the folder where those are stored and make a back-up copy.

You can access your save files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Saves. There should be a folder with your SteamID and your saves.

Make a copy of whole save file (or just those saves you want to keep) and move it to some other destination - e.g. your desktop. Upon installing the game, you can run it and see if your saves are untouched. If you´ll be missing something, copy back the files from backup file.

Hope this helps.

Please let me know whether it works flawlessly for you.

Kind Regards
