Immediate crash loading saved world

Jack Edwards shared this bug 4 years ago
Solved

Space Engineers and/or my graphics driver crashes within 1-5 seconds of loading my saved game. This only started to occur after upgrading to Radeon Software 19.12.2 and 19.12.3. Rolling back to 19.12.1 will allow me to play the game just fine.

I do not play with mods.

I have a similar bug involving practically the exact same scenario as you

1. RADEON AMD gpu settings are outdated, so I update to current,

2. AMD doesn't work, so I roll back,

3. AMD gpu resets settings and now can run,

4. AMD gpu runs space engineers greatly, allowing more than 5 large planets in one world with little to no loss in performance

5. New holiday update installed.

6. Computer crashes on game startup, but no blue-screen. Just blackness.

7. Reboot allows computer to work but computer is unaware of said crash.

Hello KSW. I no longer experience this issue after setting the "Wait for Vertical Refresh" setting in AMD's "Radeon settings" application to "Always off". Previously, I had this setting set to "On, unless application specifies".

To be fair, I've only tested the new setting for a couple minutes. The issue may still exist, but it's so much better now.

I forwarded this to AMD as well.

Actually the vertical refresh "fix" stopped working when I got back to the planet surface. At that point I needed to disable grass.

Hello, Engineers.

This AMD related issue should be already fixed. Can you please confirm? Thank you.
