I have an audio bug with space engineers

Won't Fix

So I have an audio bug with space engineers where when I go into the settings the sound and music sliders are at zero and when I turn them up and hit accept there is still no sound and when I go back into the audio settings they are both back at zero. I know the problem isn't my headphones because I have audio with other games and I have repeatedly uninstalled and reinstalled the game, I have even deleted the game and the local files and it still doesn't work. Please help me, I love space engineers and I really want to hear amazing sounds of the game again.

There have been a few reports of this in the forums but not for a while. I would suggest checking this thread out from quite a while ago, it has collective responses for all different fixes for quite a few users so would certainly suggest taking a look through these and trying them to see if any help you :) I also found this older thread too which mentions changing the PCs audio format to 48000Hz

We also start with general fixes which are the following (I appreciate some you have done already) -

  • Verify your game files in Steam
  • Right click on Space Engineers in Steam Library → Properties → Local Files → Verify Integrity of Game Files

  • Delete SpaceEngineers.cfg file
  • It means your game configuration will be deleted
  • You can access your SpaceEngineers.cfg by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.
  • Back up your whole Space Engineers Roaming folder and delete it
  • Restart Steam
  • Reinstall the game
  • Make sure your operating system is fully updated
