I Don't have access to thrusters in SE

hey i was wondering if you could look into this, as i would like to play SE but im stuck playing a MAD MAX style as i need and/or must buy the "sparks of the future" DLC in order to even use the traditional thrusters.
as you can see in the picture, only the hydro, atmo & Ion thrusters are locked. but for some reason my friends are able to use them (most have the DLC) it looks like im the only one with this issue
am i going to have to get the DLC if i want to play SE the way i want to?

You don't specify if you're playing on a server (or save) where you had access to them before. Assuming you're playing in Survival mode -- is Progression enabled? If so, have you actually unlocked the thrusters in the progression tree?
