Hydrogen blocks won't get removed

Juan Angel Caro Sevilla shared this bug 5 years ago
Solved

Small grid and large grid hydrogen blocks will at times not be removed. Instead it seems the selection crosshair will go through the object behind it. An example would be haveing a hydrogen block infront of a reguler block. You face it and try to remove the hydrogen block abd instead the block behind is removed. I'm not sure why it happens and the only solution us to switch blocks and come back to the hydrogen one then try to remove it.

Ive had this happen through multiple worlds and grids. Pretty annoying since you end up deleting the wrong thing and ecen frustrating when its a compact grid where deleting something means having to perform surgery and open it up to replace the deleted block.

Hello, Engineer!

Thank you for the report but we need more accurate information.

What do you mean by "Hydrogen blocks" and "Regular block".

It would help a lot really if you could record video with reproduction steps of this issue.

I've reported this issue mutliple times, with video; I don't understand how it isn't known about at this point.

Hydrogen thrusters have broken physics/collision models, meaning when you point your crosshairs at them and right click to delete ( or grind them down ), you will in fact delete or grind down the block behind the thruster. I have noticed this issue with a few other blocks recently- the models seem to be broken. Here is the video:

Start watching from 4:43- you will see the exact issue with hydro thrusters- this happens with small and large grids, no mods. This has been an issue for OVER A YEAR. -_-

I have had this happen too. It's been around for ages... I think it was even reported on the old forums. Basically, when you go to delete a small hydrogen thruster in create mode by right-clicking, a block somewhere behind it is randomly targeted.

Hello, Enginners!

As this thread is rather old, let me ask whether you are still experiencing it nowadays.

While I give it a try, I was not able to reproduce it, unless I was really close and thus intersecting with the other block collision box. Beside that, no success regarding what is shown on video.

Please let me know current state of this issue. Thanks.

I've just had a quick check- this can be marked as Solved, no issues deleting hydrogen thrusters from any angle anymore. Cheers.
