Gravity on planets is based on altitude from terrain, rather than from center of planet.

While this is not normally noticeable during standard gameplay, it can become noticeable when trying to create an orbit, or extremely high terrain. The different gravity disrupts stable paths, preventing sustainable orbits if a player manages to achieve them. This may be an outdated method of finding gravity which was accepted as functioning well enough to be suitable, but this is to bring attention to the gravity
