Gas Tank Stockpile button does not correctly work (all the time)

Building a station, which I Want to be able to buy/sell H2/O2 from in controlled quantities. In order to control when a tank is filling/discharging, the stockpile buttons make the most logical sense.
The problem I'm finding though is that sometimes (not always), the stockpile button in the Console does not actually perform the action behind it. It isnt until I turn off/on the tank(s) that the Stockpile button actually does the action it needs to.
