Game still running in steam after quitting

Whenever I exit the game, it says it's still running. Every time without fail. This wouldn't be a huge issue but it's not even present in my task manager, which means I need to restart steam altogether every time I want to boot the game again.
Advise?

normally wen this happens , it's still present , steam recognizes the .exe , ghave you checked detail tab on task manager ?

When this bug occurs, the game is shown in my task manager as a sub-entry of the "Steam Client Bootstrapper (32bit)". I can then close it there.
