Game game freezes/hangs at startup

I'm attaching the space engineers log file from C:\Users\{YOUR WINDOWS USERNAME}\AppData\Roaming\SpaceEngineers\SpaceEngineers.log. So basically the first screen that you see upon launching space engineers (see attached jpg file) is displayed and the game never get's past it. This happened when I upgraded to 1.194. I've completely removed the game including the folders C:\Users\{YOUR WINDOWS USERNAME}\AppData\Roaming\SpaceEngineers

and

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\SpaceEngineers (actually this folder was removed by steam uninstall)

after uninstalling from steam. I re-installed fresh but that did not make a difference. I can go back to 1.193 and the game works fine. I've logged on with my google account so hopefully if you need further information or need to update me, I can be reached by email.

Same constant I have updated everything I could think of.

My game also got removed after I just left it to launch had to reinstall.

With my poking and prodding some Launch options such as -novideo or even disabling the new visual scripting tool to lighten the load on startup might help, but I leave it in the hands of the pros please help!

The tip with updating windows worked. The key updated seemed to have been KB4535102.My recent update history to get it installed without errors was:

KB4490628 -> KB4516655 -> KB4524752 -> KB4535102 (!) ->KB3042058 -> KB4534310

I think one of those updates contains the annoying upgrade/out-of-support warning. Better double check and maybe avoid...

I'm back and I figured my problem might be a Windows update of some sort since my system was way out of date. I have new hardware and I'm running Window 8.1 (updated to the latest patch level) and SE 1.194 works fine. I'm going to upgrade the Windows 7 system to Windows 8.1 as well. I'm not interested in going to Windows 10 at all. So when the time comes, I'll only be playing games for another OS but that's another can of worms. Sad since SE doesn't run on Linux but other games do so when Windows 8.1 reaches end of life, I'll be done with Microsoft AKA spysoft.

Also, when Keen creates SE version 2, I really hope they make a version for Linux. It will be really sad if I have to miss out.
