Game Freezes for about 10 seconds when I press escape

Specs: i7 4770, gigabyte 1050ti, 12 gigs of ddr3 ram , windows 10.
So a run down on what happens will go like this, I open my local server to play with my friends, then I press escape to edit a setting or something, and then the game will freeze for about 10 seconds before opening the menu.
I am fairly sure it is nothing with my computer as this has never happened before, and there are no other stutters , abnormal temperatures and I run everything else just fine
