Game Freeze - Connection Problem - Game Paused

Won't Fix

After starting up our multiplayer game on DS. Client computers are freezing with 'Connection Problem' and 'Game Paused'.

This is the first playing since the Frostbite update, it was fine before then.

The server logs show nothing useful, however on a client system, I was watching the SE log and saw this...

Every time 'Thread: 1 -> STATISTICS' kicks in is when the client freezes.

Do the clients experience the freezing also in Single player? Can you please write their PC specifications?

No, the freezing only happens in multiplayer. As far as has been played, single player has been fine. Hosting system is a dual CPU Xeon @3.4-3.7GHz (12C/24T), 36GB RAM.


Tested client systems:

i9900k, RTX2080, 32GB RAM

i7700k, GTX1080, 16GB RAM

X5690, GTX1060, 36GB RAM


All clients experience the same, occasionally you can connect and get to run around for a while, then the problem starts again (that pretty rare though). All systems could play flawlessly a few months ago. Nothing has changed in the configuration, other than the game auto updating. This happens playing online (all connections are over 100/20mb async) and also happens connecting locally at 1Gbps (tested 2Gpbs and 4Gbps, same problem).

I have tried local hosting and dedicated (I have also tried Torch, I know you don't support it, it is for testings sake), same results. I will be rolling back to 1.193 tonight for more testing.

As this thread is rather old now, as well as last comments here, let me please first of all ask whether you are still experiencing it even nowadays (v198)? Or was the issue fixed in the meantime by various game updates and fixes?

It would be also nice if you can share me the save file of the affected world.

You can access your save files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineersDedicated\Saves.

Please zip the file and attach it here. If you are having difficulty attaching files you can optionally use Google Drive. When sharing a google drive link please make sure it is set to be downloadable by anyone with the link.

Thanks in advance for confirming or disproving this and for providing the files.
