Game crashing when loading scenario save

With the major survival overhaul being out I started playing the 'Never Surrender' scenario with Mars as the starting location. I had a single long session and since saving&exiting that session, loading the save or any of the 5 backup saves results in the game crashing at the supposed end of the loading screen. The save that was automatically generated at the very beginning of the session, saves of other worlds and multiplayer worlds work perfectly fine. Rebooting my PC, reinstalling the game and clearing the APPDATA folder except for the particular save file hasn't solved the issue.
The log file of my last attempt to load the save in question is attached.
