Game crashing network

Tony Nameless shared this bug 3 years ago
Won't Fix

This is caused by how server browser works.

Every time you switch tab between servers, friends favorites or history etc, or even go into filters, server list update every single time.

This causes too many requests.

It crashes my internet connection for at least 2 minutes.

I have to wait for it to recover before use.

Hello, Tony,

can I please get the full log? We are currently experiencing some issues with ASUS native gaming app... might that be your issue as well?

The log would help big time here.

If you can do and share as well log from Windows event viewer, that might help as well.

Thanks in advance.

Kind Regards

I had to jump from servers to history to favorites and to search settings to cause the internet connection loss.

Here is the log.

Event log does not show anything suspecious other then an error when network crashes.

Name resolution for the name google.com timed out after none of the configured DNS servers responded.

I swear i attached my file. i dont understand why this website behaves weird like that.

This isnt 1st time i upload needed files and they are simply not there. Dont even know how i ended up double posting same thing.

Clearly something is broken here.

Hello, Tony,

thanks for the log.

From what can be observed there, is seems that you might have just a little to much servers in Favorite tab. Some of those seems to be old, outdated, dead or using some obsolete mods. That might the the origin of your troubles.

Can you please try to delete the content of the SE folder in AppData on you PC? You can access this folder by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.

Make sure you back-up you save files and blueprints on some other place on your PC and delete whole folder. That should create new fresh data in this folder after you run the game once again. Just please take in account that also the Favorite tab and any other local settings and preferences will be changed back to defaults.

Seeing from log that you are most likely using ASUS PC, if you are using "Asus GameFirst" application by any chance, please try to close/disable that before running the game.

If nothing of these would work for you, can I please ask for new log from the game as the one from windows event viewer as well?

Thanks.

Kind Regards

I had maybe 2 or 3 favorite servers. Game cant handle that ?

Also i had every file deleted from %appdata% except for configuration file to keep key binds and other settings.

No result.

I also dont have any Asus GameFIrst, i dont even know what it is.

I dont know what works, right now game works with no issues and i had done absolutely nothing to it to make it work.

One day i came home and it just works. Rest of the days it just doesnt.

One thing i know for sure is, if i jump between tabs of the server browser (servers, favorites, etc) forcing list reload every time i jump, network connection on my whole computer is completely dead for at least 2 minutes.

No sign of any connection problem anywhere. Network is simply flooded with servers list downloads similar to DDOS attack.

Hello, Engineer!

Because there is no new comment from you I take it you are no longer experiencing the issue.

In this case, I will close this thread.

Thank you for understanding.
