Game Crashing If Chat screen is open on respawn

So as the title suggest the game will freeze / crash if the chat menu is open when you character dies.

This was first noticed by a player during an event on our servers.

I have since done some testing in both single player and multiplayer and have found that if Auto Respawn is enabled this mitigates the issue. However if you are taken to the respawn screen with the chat window open the game will freeze and the only way out is to Alt + F4, close the game and reboot.

Hello, Engineer!


We reproduced and reported issue with stuck in the respawn screen when chat window is open. However the game didn't crash. Can you confirm the crash and send us a log?

I don't have log file , here is a video attached , also the pictures in the original post is the moment the game freezes.


No matter what you click or try the game remains frozen on that screen and unable to respawn , until you close the game and load back in.

Hello,


You can access Space Engineers logs by writing %Appdata% into your search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers\SpaceEngineers.log and you should be able to locate the log file. Can you please send it to us?

I have attached the log , I spawned into a single player Earth like Quick Start and flew into the air and fell to death and opened chat window and same freeze/crash result. Hopefully this helps.

Fixed in XMAS update v193.1. Enjoy the game :)
