Game Crashing for fake Overheating

Max Cecca shared this bug 2 years ago
Won't Fix

The game keep on crashing after some minutes in every game i play both old and new.

It closes and then says "Graphics device driver has crashed. Your card is probably overheating or driver is malfunctioning." when my GPU is stable at 48/50 degrees which is not overheating!

I'm also playing at medium having a RTX 2060!

Hello, Max!

Sorry to hear you're experiencing this issue. Is this happening in un-modded worlds? Is this an issue that has only recently started happening? Have you made any changes recently that could be causing this issue? Does the same thing happen if you drop the settings to low?

Please can you attach a log from when you experience this issue?

You can access your log files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.

Please also try the following:

  • Fresh install of the graphic driver → that means uninstall all graphic drivers, when done → delete all remaining graphic drivers and graphic folder on the drive, reboot the computer and install the latest driver
  • Make sure your operating system is fully updated
  • Back up your whole Space Engineers Roaming folder and delete it (You can access your files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.)
  • Reinstall the game

Kind Regards

I had already reinstalled the drivers but nothing happened.

I've now deleted the roaming folder and as of now seems to have worked.

Later i will make an update here if the situation change for some reason.

Nope crashed after a few minutes in game, while loading the server map.

Hello, Max!

Thank you for the log. I can see that you're running Windows 11. Unfortunately, under our system requirements on the Steam page you can see that we mention Windows 10 for Space Engineers. Is it possible that you can roll back to Windows 10 and test this?

By doing so i should then reinstall everything on my pc.

No thanks. I prefer playing like a normal human being when you fix the compatibility issues with the game.

Hello, Max!

With Windows 11 still installed, can you please remove all mods and provide a new log?

Hello, Max!

Thank you for this log without the mods. I can't see an exception in here. is this a log from a crash without mods just to be sure?

Kind Regards

No it's just a normal log of a new game without mods and no crash.

As soon as I can I'll get you the log you're looking for.

Hello, Engineer!

Because there is no new comment from you, and we are unable to reproduce the issue on our own, I will close this thread now as outdated.

If you or any other player will experience this issue again, please make a new thread and provide all needed info there.

Thank you for understanding.
