Game Crashes Suddenly

Ben Nichols shared this bug 3 years ago
Won't Fix

Hi everyone,

Some time ago I used to play Space engineers on another computer for around a year on a laptop and was able to play smoothly on the lowest of settings without crashes unless something truly horrific to performance happens. With my new computer with high specs i thought i could crank all the graphics to high and leave all the others on their presets like grass density (since i knew that could be heavy on the performance) and play happy as ever.

however i seem to just completely freeze and crash out of nowhere all the time at random intervals. 10 minutes i'm in, everything's going well and then freeze followed swiftly by a crash. 40 minutes in I've done a major drill operation with around 6 pistons and nine drills going extremely deep, no performance issues whatsoever, no lag, i get everything packed up ready to head off and then freeze followed by the game completely crashing. After these crashes i sometimes cant even load the damn game again until 2 hours have passed since it would freeze on the start screen. I could hear the music playing for a bit while its frozen too but it will crash afterwards.

On multiplayer I get similar results, so this doesn't seem to be a performance issue (at the least it doesn't show it). I could wait for 15 minutes on the freeze screen sometimes and the game still wont respond.

hopefully this can be fixed.

Thank you for your time
