since latest update 13/02/21. Start space engineers in steam, get little version screen, then black screen for about 6 seconds and then game closes.

I verified game, reinstalled game, deleted cfg file, deleted shader cache folder contents. None of these helped.

I then deleted all the videos in content folder KHS and background videos, now it works fine.

I too have the same issue starting the game on Windows 10. I get as far as "You can press alt-F2 to start Ansel" and then it crashes 100% of the time.

I've verified my Steam files, uninstalled/reinstalled, installed the latest c++ redistributables, updated to the latest EVGA driver, deleted my SpaceEngineers.cfg file, set -skipintro on the startup arguments, and deleted shader caches. None of this has changed the behavior.

When I read my log files I see the following:

Hello!

We are sorry that you are experiencing this issue. Can you please attach here a full log? What PC specification do you have?

Please try also to verify your game files in Steam and back up and delete your whole Space Engineers Roaming folder.

Kind Regards

I looked through some other similar tickets and was able to fix this by renaming the "B:\Steam\SteamApps\common\SpaceEngineers\Content\Videos" folder.

Hello, everyone!

Thank you all for the information. We're sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues.

Before taking any of the steps below please make sure that your PC meets the minimum system requirements:

https://www.spaceengineersgame.com/system-requirements.html

The kernelbase.dll crash occurs in a wide range of games and apps in general. The crash isn't typically caused by Space Engineers and may be the result of a system issue. Hopefully, we can provide you with a solution to your issue quickly. However, we may not be able to address your issue until a future update or hotfix to Space Engineers.

In the meantime, please take the following steps:

  • Update Windows (The most recent update for MS Windows 10 is Microsoft Windows NT 10.0.19041.0)

  • Update your graphic drivers

  • Reinstall the Visual Studio redistributable: download the latest version from the official Microsoft website (x86: vc_redist.x86.exe OR x64: vc_redist.x64.exe)

  • Run as a different user (a corrupt windows user profile is a common source of this error)

Please follow these steps and let us know if it helped you. Thank you.

Kind Regards

Well, Kateřina Červená, just a cursory perusal of GuiTextures.sbc will reveal that said file records:

...

<Texture>

<SubtypeName>BluePrintCloud</SubtypeName>

<Path>Textures\GUI\Icons\buttons\BluePrintCloud.png</Path>

</Texture>

...

while a further *cursory* observation of folder ...\Textures\GUI\Icons\buttons\BluePrintCloud.png will reveal *there is NO such file !*

Idem for the other files thus flagged.

Why all the bru-ha-ha instead of just checking ?

Hello, Engineers!

I appreciate this is an old thread. Is this still an issue or, something that has since been resolved?
