Fresh install - ambient/enviromental sounds extremely loud, drowning out everything else

Not a Bug

I've just reinstalled the game on my new hard drive and something is very wrong with the sound levels, they are literally all over the place.

Ambient and enviromental sounds are abnormally loud, so loud that they drown out everything else. For example the Refinery block would normally produce a fairly low ambient sound effect and would drop off at about 3 blocks distance. Now it's insanely, even painfuly loud at 10 blocks distance.

When flying a ship the engines are barely even audible over the sound of the wind.

Placing a block in the world causes a massive THUD from the speakers.

If set the volume to a point where using tools and just generally interacting with the world is a normal comfortable level, where it would normally be, then the enviromental sounds are practically blowing out my speakers, and my ears.

This is with both the in-game volume and the system volume exactly where it was before I reinstalled. And I have tried reinstalling the game again, multiple times.

Game is literally unplayable in this state.

Ok I've figured out the problem. This was being caused by the "Enable Audio Enhancements" setting in the Windows 10 sound properties.

After disabling it the sound effects have returned to normal.
