I was unable to reproduce this. Do you have any more details at all such as a specific station? Please see below screenshot.

I actually have this bug on a private server, have not tried to use pubs, but whenever I try to open the freight box's inventory it just opens the general inventory, unless I specifically seldct the little head icon. But if I want a full overview of what I carry, if anything is in those, I have to go to each individual one and tell it to show individual inventory. If this is not a bug, can this change be made into a suggestion? Oh perhaps I should mention that I am on Xbox, not PC?
