Fall damage inconsistent / bugged

Hi,

I'v recently started playing SE again with my friends on my own dedicated server.

I have noticed that fall damage on planets is inconsistent. We have died frequently to fall damage when we have just jumped down from refinery/large cargo/etc (~3-4 blocks height) to our ground vehicle deck (very big car, large 5x5 wheels). At the same time, we can jump off from our vehicle (~10 block height) to the ground and take only ~15 damage. Also flying to the vehicle walls/cargo/etc. often kills even though there is not much speed.


We use landing gears to keep our vehicle from moving when we are not going anywhere. I wonder if that messes up fall damage calculations somehow?
