Video: Moved to the next connector and it worked...

Same bug here. I had to grind down the connector and place a new one to get it to work

I had it on trading mode.. switched it back.. and connected.. It should not have been in trading mode.. But I had the issue again today.. and it was in trading mode.

That connector was somehow in trading mode even though I had trading mode switched off.. positive about that.. It was on when I was messing with it.. I turned it off.. Then shortly afterwrds went to connect.. and had that issue.. also. When I had trading mode on. it was on all the connectors.. and when removed. removed from all those connectors.. So yeah.. I checked today while having the issue.. and trading mode was on when I checked before and that option was greyed out I believe?

Hello, ToothRot,

thanks for letting us know about this issue that you are experiencing.

The truth is that I did experience similar behavior when only one connector was turned Off in Trading mode, while the other was turned On (same as in your video). After connecting these two, they both act like the Trading mode would be turned On on both. But that makes sense, because the On status on the base connector has higher priority than the Off status on connector on the ship.

But from your text, it seems that this status was turning itself on/off regardless your actions, am I right?

May I ask if you are using any mods, scripts, something, that might change this behavior, or whether you are running pure vanilla (without mods) game?

I also did notice that in Control Panel of the Connector block, you have actually the Connected time in negative numbers. That´s really strange.

Can I please have a copy of your save to try in on my own?

You can access your save files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Saves. There should be a folder with your SteamID and your saves.

Please zip the file and attach it here. If you are having difficulty attaching files you can optionally use Google Drive. When sharing a google drive link please make sure it is set to be downloadable by anyone with the link.

If you are not able to provide the save file (as you play some multiplayer mode, as I can see on video), please do blueprints of the ship and the base as well so I have at least this option to try it on your exact build.

Thanks in advance.

Kind Regards

This was on the Keen NA1 server. I dont know if you have backup save files on there but the location is on the moon about 4km from Mecs station in orbit. I cant send a save file. What I did before the video was.. I did have trading mode on.. I thought it might be more secure from connector power drain attacks. Anyway.. I turned trading mode off..I think by using a ship antenna.. when I mess with the station connectors I highlight all of them and change them all at the same time out of habit. I use the connector, add what I need.. usually ice.. and shut off all the connectors via ship antenna. I do remember making the choice to stop using trading mode and just go back to turning off the connector. So yes.. would say that connector did something on it's own.

Hello, ToothRoth,

thanks for quick reply. However, this is not helping at all. I do not have any admin rights on the server as such so I would need to fly in the space randomly and trying to find you base. Plus taking I´m not in your faction, even when I do find the exact place, I still can not access it because of the safe zone.

Please, if you can not share the save file, can you do the blueprint of the base and and ship separately, or the base and the ship connected to it? That should be possible to do. Just in-game press Ctrl+B while pointing on the object in order to save the blueprint.

Also, please keep in mind, that the "mathematics" in this behavior goes:

- trade mode OFF on ship + trading mode OFF on base = no trading mode - you can view the connected inventories and such (0 + 0 = 0)

-trade mode ON on ship and OFF on the base = trading mode on, you can only view the trading blocks on the base and no connected inventories (correct) (1 + 0 = 1)

-trade mode in OFF on the ship and ON on the base = trading mode on, you can only view the trading blocks on the base and no connected inventories (correct) (0+ 1 = 1)

Are you sure you did not leave the Trade mode ON on the base. trying to connect with ship connector (that was OFF), to it and expecting to be able to view inventories of whole base?

As goes fot Magnus S.:

You do have any reprosteps/video/save/blueprint that can help me chase this bug down, please? You also do get the countdown on the "Connected" in Control panel in negative numbers?

Thanks.

Kind Regards

Hello, Engineer!

Because there is no new comment from you, and we are unable to reproduce the issue on our own, I will close this thread now as outdated.

If you or any other player will experience this issue again, please make a new thread and provide all needed info there.

Thank you for understanding.
