Engineer character models not showing

Not sure how many other people have this bug, but I haven't seen anything anywhere online to say so. Simply put, after the most recent update (1.194) the engineer playermodel doesn't seem to show. In either multiplayer or singleplayer, the only telltale signs of the character are the helmet lights, thruster jets and a held tool/item. the engineer themselves are completely missing.
After a bit of trial and error, checking file integrity via steam, uninstalling and reinstalling both the game and steam, there's still no change. After cycling though older versions, anything past 1.193 seems results in this bug.
