Earthlike Pod's parachute opens way too low and crashes

Whenever I spawn in an earthlike pod, the parachute opens like 15 metres or so above the ground so the pod always ends up crashing. I'm playing on latest version, experimental mode, multiplayer (2 players) and thats about it.
