DS Settings not affecting Procedural Entities/Economy Stations

Keen,

In Dedicated Server config files and the new sandbox_config you give us a few settings that do not do anything.

The first is DepositsCountCoefficient which supposedly according to your own post adjusts the number of ore deposits found in procedural generated asteroids. No matter what I change this setting to we end up with 2 ores maximum per asteroid, with several having one, or even NO ore patches.

DepositSizeDenominator similarly does NOTHING.

No we have not tested these settings with a new world start because you claim that asteroids are procedural and thus spawn randomly due to player location/distance/view ect... I have tested by jumping far beyond any grid location or player sync distance to get new asteroids to generate and get the same result. Are these useless? Are all new asteroids generated simply from the random proceduralSeed value?

Along with those not functioning, a post on your forum says that Economy NPC stations are also procedurally generated.

StationsDistanceInnerRadius

StationsDistanceOuterRadiusStart

StationsDistanceOuterRadiusEnd

also do not affect anything with regard to how the NPC stations are created. We have a limited world size of 500km. The OuterRadiusEnd is set to 240,000 since we were told this value was in meters not km. We have gps coordinates, Hauling mission coordinates, and other missions types for NPC stations that are located well beyond the 500km border of the world. Are these values based upon the individual station locations or are they based from GPS 0,0,0? If they are based from 0,0,0 then it is broken. If based from each station location.... then please say that in a tool tip or forum post somewhere.

Hi,

DepositsCountCoefficient is used in formula k * n, where k is this coefficient and n is 1-5 (size of asteroid 64m, 128m, 256m, 512m). Default (old) is 2, for Star System with economy it's 1.

DepositSizeDenominator changes actual size of the deposit. Formula is (size of asteroid / denominator) + 8.

Both work only if you are using asteroid generator version > 2.

Radius numbers work only when you start (or enable economy) the world for the first time. After that they don't do anything.

Filip,

Thank you for the information.

Just to verify, disabling Economy and then re-enabling it would still not correct the error with the radius distance, only solution would be to expand world size to accommodate the economy station radius's set when we originally activated economy correct?
