Disappearing items
Hi,
My boyfriend and I have been enjoying Space Engineers recently. He disconnected from the game properly. I was the host.
1) His character was still in the game with the disconnection icon on top of his head. Is this normal?
2) Is the above related to why when he got back after 10 minutes, his newly bought elite welder and everything, as well as hydrogen bottles disappeared after??
3) I was playing this game earlier today with my brother. It is the same server or game as with my boyfriend. I was having a headache, so I took a break for 6 hours. I built a cryogenic to keep my character safe in, and to keep hosting the game for my brother.
When I looked at the game, it was still connected. When I got out of the cryogenic, my Elite Welder was gone, so was my 1st lvl grinder (the adjective or descriptor before that word I actually forgot). So was the hydrogen bottle. And they were replaced with the default low-grade ones people spawn with. The items were not found in the cryo inventory either.
Other notes:
1) Both cases, I, as a host, did not disconnect, or get disconnected, or load the game. 2) Both my boyfriend and I lost our items.
3) We searched the storages, and they were not found.
It would be a pain to have to store everything before logging out. People really just want to get back into the world and grind.
I hope you guys can kindly check it out and fix it...
Thank you in advance.
-Stef
The player who disconnected is now an object that still lives. It holds the items, can be killed and consumes energy and oxygen depending on where he stands it shouldn't matter but he dies if he runs out of. And not sure how the trash filter works today but after ~15min a disconnected player will be deleted. You can change that with [alt+F10] and then under trash. Maybe it's set to zero which is infinite.
I don't know why you died or your items disappeared in the cryochamber.
But you said you run the world on your space engineers or a dedicated server / host ?

Hello, Engineer!
1) Disconnected player's character stay in the game with an icon on top of their head. This is correct.
2) Regarding disappeared tools and items: https://support.keenswh.com/spaceengineers/general/topic/disappearing-tools
3) Tools and items shouldn't disappear when you are in the Cryo Chamber. Can you please provide us with more information?
Thank you!
